Autumn Afternoon Rafting

I know I'm not the only one wondering where the summer months went. Okay, so the Summer Solstice is still a few days off, but September is a Fall month. Here in Oregon, however, September offers some of the most wonderful weather of the year. Yesterday was just one of those perfectly warm and sunny days with the sloping light creating that autumnal feeling, so Mike and I decided it was a perfect day to raft down the McKenzie River.

We've rafted on the McKenzie a number of times this summer, but this was the first time it was just the two of us on the river. Not only were we alone on the raft, we didn't see another raft or kayak. I guess the beginning of school has also ended the tourist season.

The next pics share the beauty of the day, the extraordinary scenery, the amazing colors of the McKenzie River. The last photo, though out of focus, displays a harbinger of fall.
