Food Chain, June 15, 2012
Months ago I designed a more organized version of "Food Web" (see image at the bottom of this post) and put it on a small drawing. Eventually it found it's way to a half sheet of watercolor paper. The drawing sat for quite awhile until I took it out and put these washed on the layers. Again it was on pause until, at a point of desperation for something to paint, I pulled it out and did some detail work on it.

LOVE Food Web!!! Do you purposely want Food Chain to be high key?

I enjoy seeing your process, Margaret! I think these have a wonderful illustrative quality--surely there is a children's book in your future!!
I also love "Food Web" because of it's stamping and bright colors contrasted with the darks. You are onto something....Bravo!
